Last day of work. A small group of people with big hearts grew on me amazingly fast; I hate having to leave them. I have stayed in jobs for three, five years and not felt anything upon leaving. But in less than a year, these people have forced me to rethink my attitude toward the world in general...perhaps there are still a few good people out there.
This Friday, everyone signed a "Good Wishes" card; their comments were all so touching. I left them a small painting I made for the office and the boss immediately put it up on the wall.
We picked up Algernon this morning and as soon as she walked in she picked a dark corner where to be left alone. She was under the bed first, then came out and hasn't left this corner since..not even to eat. I don't think "Algie" likes her new home. I hope she adjusts soon.

This is really touching...I'm glad your new friends and your boss didn't see in you a working machine but a person with feelings, heart and a beautiful mind.
Loved to meet Algernon. Hope he will get used to his new home.
Just realized, after re-reading your entry that "Algie" is a emale. I apologize to Algernon and I hope she finds her place.
Algernon forgives you. hahahaha.
